so here’s my question… how do you handle the situation when your MIL makes comments to you like “i’ll find a better woman for my husband and those kids…” when you thought you were on good terms and pretty close with one another and other than that you are a wonderful mother and wife?
Her name is Patricia. By day, she is Mrs. Corporate America, by night, she is an “Ann Landers” of sorts. Patricia is the founder of the internationally-recognized website, motherinlawhell.com.

You say, “Oh great, he could use a better mother and it would be great if they had a better grandmother!” LOL!
Simply say “now there’s a thought” as if she’s a complete idiot (she is). I wish more husbands would get involved with their own mothers and setting them straight! That is a totally obnoxious rotten thing that your MIL said to you! Can you have a heart to heart talk with your husband about it and ask him to speak with her?
“Awwww, it must be really sad to be you…sad and pathetic if you can’t let your own son live his own life. Poor thing.”
But then again, I’m just evil.
And what pray tell did DH say about this comment? I hope for his sake he said something along the lines of “Can’t get any better than perfection mother.”
