My hubby and I have been together for 6 yrs and have 3 children. Our oldest we lost at birth. We were young and didn’t have enough money for a funeral. So my MIL told us to put cans outside a local store and get it that way. They were capable of giving some money but wouldn’t Every one else did except for her.

wow your monster in law is out there she should have helped with the money. i don’t understand that.
All I can say is I am sorry for your loss and also sorry for the added pain from such a selfish MIL…

How insensitive, to say the least! My grandson was stillborn 5 months ago, and to watch my daughter and son-in-law go through that was incredibly painful. I paid for my grandson’s cremation and urn, without a thought! I am sorry for your loss.
My step-mother-in-law, who is also my mother, only visited my daughter once in the hospital, even though my father-in-law/stepfather was in the same hospital at the same time and was in good condition! (To make this a little clearer, my mother-in-law passed away about 10 years ago; my father-in-law and my mother married about a year afterwards! So, I have an evil step-mother-in-law from there, but I have to “honor” her because she is my MOTHER)!
I truly have to say…I was completely speechless after reading that. I don’t think that’s ever happened.
