Mother-in-Law HELL

I am happily married to my wife but every time my MIL shows up, she’ll screw up everything. OK, I’ll start with her profile. She is an insurance agent. I was forced to buy a policy from her when I first courted her daughter, as she said that it is a form of assurance to her (Of course the nominee is my wife). OK, so I just bought for the sake of myself and also to give her some face.

I have a passive-aggressive mil and fil. They recently came to live in the states with very little money and false hopes wanting to change their lifestyle at ages 57 and 63. Having what i think is a clear head on my shoulders made it very clear to my hubby that they would not live in my home.I live is a very small 1 1/2 bedroom apartment. I am having problems with the in-laws. I’ve been married for almost 9 years with my husband and we have two children, currently residing in NYC. We live in a small apartment and are trying to save to buy a house, which means we are constantly looking for ways to save and cut costs.
I have met my in-laws on several occasions because they have come to visit us from South America and we visited them for one month about two years ago. Everything was planned for our one month visit and we provided for ourselves. We even made sure to leave money to cover our utility expenses. I made sure of this because I know how difficult it is to have visitors. It’s always an imposition because you are changing your daily routine to accommodate your visitor.
