OK, I have more to say. Aside from the arguments my MIL causes between my husband of 1 year and myself….She also prevents us from having sex! Because we have to stay in her house, (see my previous rant, she is elderly and we are helping her and moving her to our town), my husband refuses to have sex. We have been here for 6 months, and we have not had sex for 6 months. There is no passionate kiss in the car before we come home, no hotel room in the afternoon, no sex at home while she is at a hair appointment. Because we are in his parents’ house, he can’t do it. There’s not even a hint of romance or intamacy. We were not like this in our years of dating or before we moved in here. We have to be here for HER, she is horrible to us while we are here helping her. She doen’t appreciate anything and always makes it clear that we do everything wrong. And on top of all of that misery… I don’t even get to french kiss my husband. He would never leave her, he is commited. But it is killing us to be near her. I know that she won’t change. All I can do is try to not be as affected by her. But I can’t make my husband less upset, everyday, when she mistreats him. Our life before being on the same coast as my MIL was so fun. We laughed and joked and enjoyed each others’ company. Now, there’s always something wrong. There is always a problem in the house. I just wish that I didn’t have to deal with this. I wish we could have our life back and she was a phone call and not a presence.
