Ok, so when I first started dating my fiance, I really liked his mom…. Now that we are engaged and planning a wedding - I see her as STILL MOTHERING him. She will text him 5, 6, 7+ times a day…don’t forget to pay your Comcast bill, how do you get paid if you don’t submit a timecard?, don’t forget to take suckers to work (he’s quitting smoking), why are you working a double shift today…and on and on. This drives me crazy! She is now doing that to me…she’ll call [I don't answer], then text [I don't answer], then email [yup-ignoring her, I don't answer], then she will call Ryan and ask “What is Amber doing? Why isn’t she answering me???”We are both over 30, I’ve owned my home for 5 years and he’s been deployed 4 times and is now a police officer! Yet she still acts like the world would fall apart if she weren’t there to hold his (and evidently my) hand! She even told me “good job for having insurance” when my car was damaged…really?
I’m so frustrated right now I could scream! I don’t want this to affect our future marriage, but at this point, I’m starting to think it won’t get better [and possibly only worse] once we are married… Thoughts? Advice? H.E.L.P. !!
