I can't stand my MIL. My husband and I are from different countries, so my xenophobic MIL it's not thrilled about it. I've been living in his country for a little more than a year now and I was having some issues regarding my residencial permit, we were talking about it over dinner in her house, she said: Well, I guess you'll be deported now, rules are the rules, we can't have many foreigners you know?

She actually asked me once about how EVOLVED people in my country are, she was not talking about development and economics, but actual evolution, like if we had tails or something.

The last pearl was about a month ago, she came with FIL to visit for two weeks (without invitation of course!), she started to rearrenge my kitchen and my huband asked her to stop. She pulled a tantrum, she said that she was not feeling welcomed in our house and that I have no idea "how things are done in this country". I spent two days crying after that. I will never understand how this xenophobic, clasist, homophobic, bitter woman raised such a loving, progresist man that is my husband.
