Overall I have a lovely mother in law, but she did pull a stunt at my wedding that I am bitter about. At our wedding, MIL brought some random dude with her so she could show off to her ex-husband (my husband's dad), that she came with a date, while he didn't. The guy she brought was only a friend (he was married to someone else), but she said she wanted to bring a date/friend so that she wouldn't be alone. I couldn't care less if she brought a date, but when it came time for the wedding photos, when we lined up with my parents and my husband's parents, MIL gestured for that random guy to come in the line-up as well! I didnt notice because I was busy trying to pose and smile for the photo, and my husband was too nice to say anything, but my family wedding photos include a random dude that I had never seen before or since!

Wow, sounds like your MIL needs to be the center of attention - pretty pathetic!
