Ladies…My only conclusion is my MIL is Satan. I am married to the nicest, sweetest man. His Mommy Dearest is the most overbearing, toxic, gossipy person I have ever met. I believe her mission is to destroy my relationship and marriage. It all starts sometime around the wedding,doesn’t it? With a strong no nonsense upbringing and a solid belief in who I am - I was not going to tolerate anyone’s “mommy” to interfere with my life - let alone my wedding. It was not easy but I established my boundaries early with her. And yet she still crossed over them many, many times. It has been a stressful, hurtful journey. The In Laws prefer a Soap Opera existence. There is always sooooo much drama and trauma…even if there is not my crazy MIL creates it. My hubby and I prefer to keep our life quiet and peaceful. At first we would tolerate the insensitive and rude remarks made at family dinners, the intrusions on our lives, the nasty gossip MIL would spread about me.The nasty things they would do, the favoritism she played with her sons, the unimaginable mind games….Then we made a decision that has saved our marriage. NO MORE - No more. We have spent the last 18 months with little to no contact with any of them. We do not see them on the Holidays - They are not welcome in my home - We do not attend any social functions where they will be - we limited all communication to a bare minimum. They know NOTHING about what we do - or don’t do. No Communication from me in 18 months. My hubby does “chat” with them on occasion - but it is guarded and limited. It has been the only solution we have found to work for us. After years of constant BS and fighting caused by them in my marriage - My sweet hubby and I live our lives without his family involved in it and it is wonderful.
I could literally write about on the first five years and it would be published as a true horror story. My MIL is a malicious, mean, selfish, crazy, baitch. From giving us an “IOU” in a card for Christmas one year to telling everyone one what a horrible B**ch I am - My MIL is the worst - the absolute text book version of a bad MIL!
This year ladies- create peace in your life…..dump the in Laws and have a good quiet existence.

AMEN, sister!!!!!!! This is the story of my entire marriage. We went through hell and back. The lies, abuse, demanding of total compliance got to be too much for all of us. Once we cut them off entirely our lives went back to normal. It’s wonderful!!!!!! We don’t have terrible holidays and our family events are enjoyable. What’s even more important is our marriage is stronger than ever. We are very happy without the toxic in laws in our lives!
In addition to this I no longer have high blood pressure and do not have to take medication for insomnia, anxiety, panic attacks, and shingles.
