The purpose of this website is to give daughters-in-law a place where they can be free to express their feelings without being judged or criticized, help deal with their mother-in-law issues, share MIL stories with other women who are in or have been in the same situation. Most importantly, we are a virtual support system to one another. Due to the sensitivity of the subject matter, it is very important to follow these simple guidelines:

1. Constructive Advice- When giving advice to your fellow daughter-in-law, try to be gentle with your words. When reading some of these stories, we might want to scream, “ARE YOU CRAZY FOR STAYING WITH THAT LOSER”, but we can’t.. Speak to others like you would like to be spoken to.

2. Please refrain from using too much profanity. Mother-in-law usually goes hand in hand with the word “bitch” on this site, but most of the time we change it to “witch” before posting it.

3. This Forum is not for sharing stories and asking and giving advice. This is only for specific topics that will be created by the moderators. Please continue to use the “submit a story” and “ask advice” sections of the website. By doing so, advice and stories can be tracked properly.

4. You may not suggest or encourage illegal activity.

5. You cannot sell anything on this website. We are creating a marketplace dedicated to women in business. You will be able to sell and promote your goods/services there.

6. You are participating on the website at your own risk.

Lastly, grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and take refuge in knowing that you are not alone. Welcome to the Daughter-in-law Sisterhood!

I do not understand rule number 3. I thought that we could post stories and ask for advice. I thought that was the purpose of this site. I tried posting two things and they haven’t appeared on this site. Could someone please explain this to me? Thank you.

I’ve had the same problem as well. I’ve tried to post for the last two days and cannot post any stories.

I thought that is what the forum was for too.

Even when I submit a story through the proper channels, it doesn’t get posted and I’m not informed that it’s not posted, despite that I check the notification box or why. If there is a problem with my language or something, I should be informed, right?

I haven’t seen my story either…should we just keep sending them? I wanted notified, but never heard either way so that and seeing other people have issues makes me think there is a glitch or something.

I’m having the same problem as above. I can’t find the solution on how to fix this or what everyone else is doing. Please help!

I’m a new mom that’s been married for a little over 3years to a mamma’s boy.

Hi Patricia! I just joined today after seeing the Dr.Phil show yesterday..I love the site so far! But I was a little confused about rule # 3 as well and also wanted to know what it means when the site says “your posting is in moderation” or something to that affect.. Could you please clarify for me. Thank you very much for your help and making this website! terriblytorn
