This unfortunately is a true story and happened just a few short hours ago. My child will be 3 soon, and my MIL thinks that her 2 dogs are children. They bite, bark, scratch, and annoy the hell out of anyone in the family. As soon as my child was born, it was well known that I didn’t want my baby around the dogs. She never put them out, EVER! So, eventually, I just stopped going down there. At Christmas it was the worst, because she would just sit there and hold them, rocking in her chair (creepy). Staring at me like I hurt the dogs feelings. Anyways, just today, she decided to finally address it. Well, I ripped into her like a buzzsaw, and I must admit, it feels great. I have only been married to my husband for 5 years tomorrow, but it feels like an eternity because it’s always some kind of drama or crisis with his family every day. And, yes, you guessed it, who do you think is the ring leader? The MIL! Not to mention the SIL is a brat and don’t know when to keep her stupid mouth shut. I got into it with her on father’s day because she insists on calling my baby by this stupid nickname, and I finally told her enough is enough! Does anyone out there have an impossible to talk to MIL? Good Luck!

thanks for the compliment! it took me a long time to develop my backbone, but enough was enough. i had to bite my tongue for 5 years, but when it comes to your kids, you just can’t take it no more! she’s so stupid, and i realize now, that it didn’t ever matter all that time that i was nice to her and tried to get along, she didn’t care, because she wasn’t gonna like me anyway. i have honestly never dealt with anyone like her in my whole life. she’s insane!!! i feel sorry for all that have one like mine……good luck is all i can say!
I have a problem with MIL and SIL too…but youre awesome man…my dream is to be like you someday, I want to snap at them and tell them the truth about themselves! Dont give up! and what did ur husband said about this?
he didn’t have nothing to say, i think he was proud of me because i did something that he never had the guts to do. hang in there, i’m sure next time i see her she will have something else stupid to say, but the difference is……..i will be ready! good luck!
What is with these horrid mother in laws, and in my case mother and sister in law as well? They could not be happy in their own relationships or they would not be trying to torture us this way!!! I think mother in laws who cause problems have sons who are are afraid of them as my husband is. After 30 years of marriage, and suffering my in- laws the whole time he still cannot stand up to them. On my wedding day my sister in law threatened me if I didn’t look after him to watch out. If anyone spoke one bad word about my husband I would let them have it, but when his mother speaks poorly of me he says nothing. Makes me feel that he couldn’t care less. Of course you want them to love their mother but not at your expense!!
