This isn’t really a rant–it’s more of a small victory to encourage all you other ladies.

My DH’s grandmother (the evil one) is on facebook. She actually has facebook spies (his aunt and uncle) who she expects to tattle when they see something she might find interesting on facebook. Anything these two know, they are expected to share, including non-FB information, such as my brain disability (which doesn’t keep me from work or anything, but does require some understanding from those closest to me when my brian decides not to work correctly).

She actually noticed that we had both unfriended her. When she asked us what happened, we told her that we were sick of her using FB to stalk us and that we had un-friended everyone in the family including the aunt and uncle.

Her response? “I still expect to see wedding pictures even if I’m not your Facebook friend. I am…

When my sil had the nanny first grandchild, she was the perfect nanny, I too was preggies at this time only 3 months apart. Nanny came visted every other day took them out as my sil just moved from aboard and didnt have many friends. When I gave birth there was no coming to see me even after been in labour for 2 weeks with forceps. We had to go and see her.
Then she didnt see her grandchild (my child for 2 weeks) even though she would pop and see her first grandchild when they lived a min drive down the road. Then when she did see him there would be something wrong the labels would be too big on a ted baker top. His nails would be too long. He should be in bed at a set time even though he wasnt even a month old. Then came the photos…

LONG story, will try to be brief. 20+ years of marriage to a great guy- he has two siblings, a deceased father and a PITA “mother”! Me-both parents passed when I was in my 20’s and one 1/2 sister. The MIL has always treated my husband like sh*t and basically does the absolute minimum with our kids..which means she never calls them to see how they are (hasn’t since 2008) and just sends them a card for b-days…even though she lives 20 min. away! However, she doesn’t treat her other grandkids this way, just ours! So our oldest starts playing HS football and I ask my hubby if he is going to let his mother know and he said no, why should he when she can’t even bother to call them on their birthdays and shows no interest in them at all. Which was just fine with me! She finds…

So, my husband and I met when we were both in the Navy together. We were together for about 4 months when asked me to marry him and he took me home to meet the family within a few weeks of the proposal. His parents were fabulous as well as his 2 of his 3 younger sisters. The other sister was nasty and spiteful right from the start with ugly, biting comments within minutes of meeting me. These comments were always discussions of past GFs and what other folks were saying about how he could do “so much better”. The family dismissed it as part of how she was, an unhappy miserable teenager with a bad attitude and serious emotional problems related to alcohol and bad choices in her own life etc.

Over the next few years, we married, started our family, and lived many states away. The MIL called regularly…

Hey there,

Today my H and I took his niece out for some lunch. After lunch his niece showed my H the pictures on her phone. Then for some strange reason my H had a really sour face while his niece was giggling. Then out of curiosity, I asked my H to hand me the phone so I can see why he made that face. So I got the phone, looked at it and OMG!!!!! It was a picture of my MIL breastfeeding her grandson (my niece’s baby brother)! I was thinking to myself: WTF was this woman thinking?!?! This crazy woman mind you, also gave her grandkids coffee just for the he(( of it. I dont have any children yet, but when I do, I am keeping my kids away from her! I DO NOT want this crazy woman to watch my kids.

Am I wrong to be upset over this?…

I seen posts of smothering MIL’s but not many of aloof, weirdo, freakish ones… so here’s my story…

I got along okay with my MIL, until the birth of my baby girl (I’ll call her DD). Basically Mil is a socially awkward, loner type and it is often difficult to make conservation with her. She’s also very awkward in her mannerisms. She lives about 45 minutes away from us and we maybe saw each other once a month. I was perfectly fine with that situation.

Before DD was born, my mom offered to help babysit for a while when I went back to work. My mom is pretty much the opposite of Mil. She is very outgoing. When my close friends had babies before me, my mom would be ready with a casserole and an afghan, whereas Mil visited the weekend I came from the hospital without so much as a breadcrumb.…

So due to an unfortunate series of events I am living with my MIL. I just got out of the military and my DH moved down here for a job was about to get an apartment when he lost his job. So basically untill now we got along, we kept the visits short (my excuse was always work) and everything was great. But my husband moved down here before me and there were about 2 weeks he and my 2 small children were here with out me.  When I came down here everything had changed, my children called me and my DH by our 1st names and called her mommy. They both only slept with her in her room, and didn’t want me to touch them. She thought it was an awesome joke to pick them up before going to work and make me pry them off of her….them screaming…
