After my MIL and FIL made my hubby, choose between them and me (he chose right, don’t worry, no mummy’s boys here!), they excluded him from the whole family, and immediately began spreading their lies, so we couldn’t ever get the truth known, and have anyone ‘on our side’. When DH realized his mother was not going to stop on her tirade to hurt us both and alienate us from our families/friends, he decided to get in contact with his biological brother (BB), who his mother had never wanted him to meet.
He found him, and we were so excited – like one door had slammed shut, and now one door was opening in his life …
They met, and it seemed to go well, but then at the next arranged meeting BB stood us up .. we struggled to contact him, and EVENTUALLY got a vicious text from him full of…

I’m just testing the stories form now.

…Stealing her “tea cozies.”

Apparently she brought them to a dinner party I begrudgingly went to. And, apparently, I stole them.

She makes this accusation to FMIL, who tells her she’ll ask my fiancé about it – Like its not perfectly obvious that I didn’t swipe her tat.

A few hours later, the old bag finds them, and not surprisingly, makes no reference to being wrong.

I laughed about it for hours afterward – My fiancé has been telling me for ages that the old lady was nuts, and if I didn’t believe it then, I sure do now!

So my MIL and her mother (GMAinlaw) came down to visit my husband and I and our 2 month old daughter. One of the first things that Gma asked me, in a kind of condescending tone was “Do you have any blankets for this baby?!” And I replied nicely “Yes, tons, why?”…”Well b/c its freezing in here and she needs to be covered up!” I tried to explain that my husband and I have discovered that like us, she is hot blooded and will sweat if we cover her up. She was dressed appropriately and the temp was optimal in the house. Gma is always cold herself so I figured maybe that was the reason for the two sense… Well needless to say she kept mentioning it ALL weekend every so often and would word it differently each time, like “Maybe she wouldn’t be fussing if you’d just throw a…

When my now 17 year old daughter was about 3, my MIL was probably at her worst. She knew everything and I knew nothing! If she could not get me to do things HER way, she used her favorite threat: child protection. A perfect example is this: My daughter was and is still, a complete monkey. She would climb to the top of the highest swingset and hang there for as long as she could. It scared the crap out of me, but i was always right under her to catch her if she fell. She was also always baerfoot. From the time she was old enough to take her shoes off, you couldn’t keep them on her. She developed a planters wart on the bottom of her foot. I, of course, took her to the doctor. He said it would go away on it’s own, and that removing it…

We live with my husband’s grandfather, since he’s 91. He’s really mean to us. I told him that I would like to work for National Geographic as a photographer someday (I’m 23 and I’m currently taking Visual Communications at ITT-Tech and then when I’m finished I’m going to take a photography course at the art institute ).. So he tells me that they’re professionals… he’s all the time criticizing us and making really mean comments at us. He’s a brat. If it doesn’t go his way then he freaks out. I think he has dementia. Honestly I really do think so. So last Sunday he bought a dog after we talked about it for a few days and I agreed to help take care of it if he did this… So I spent EVERY day of the past week walking her for 40 minutes every 4 hours and I taught…

Last spring my daughters school had a carnival. They had a LibbyLou(sp?) room where ALL kids got nails/hair/makeup/face painting done. She was 7 and had it all-looked “good” for 7. Daughter was so excited for grandma to see her. They were planning a trip to the mall and then she was spending the night. MIL pulls up and daughter goes to meet her. I’m in the kitchen and heard daughter crying and door opens up and daughter comes in with tears streaming down her face. She said that grandma(MIL) said she looked horrible and before they would go anywhere she had to wash it all off and do her hair. MIL is walking into the garage where hubby is doing laundry and I come out and want to know what is going on. MIL tells me that she looks awful and that she can’t go out in public like that–people…
