ok.. this is going to be long (sorry) I have been married to my husband for 2 years now and we have a one year old son. My husbands family are REALLY close, they are almost like a colt if you will. They have to always be in each others business and if there is ever a special occasion or a holiday comes we HAVE to spend most of our time with them.. and if we dont I def. feel a certain vibe. Well I see my parents a lot more than we see his. But we still see his family atleast every weekend or every other. So whenever I am around my mil she says things like your other granny knows you better to my son and she will always ask me to babysit and when i allow her she insists on keeping him with her longer or over night. There is more.. my husband doesn’t have a job and hasn’t been able to find one. well we had to move into my parents house which she hates.. well my dad offered my husband a job out of state and they dont want him to take it because he would be leaving them.. am i crazy or is my mil a total b$tch????

I went through the same thing with my in laws. But my husband and I spent more time with his family than my own and it still wasnt enough. If I insisted on lets say..spending at least one Thanksgiving with my family I got the vibe also. It wasnt too long after that my MIL started telling my husband that I was driving him away from his family. We just moved out of state because we had the same situation. I was out of work and the company my husband was working for was going under. He got a job offer out of state and we took it. Its only a 4 hr drive away but his Mother acted like we were moving to Mars. She couldnt comprehend that this move was about survival and not some sort of plot to abandon the family. Hubby stuck with his plan and we moved. Be prepared for some major anger expecially when you have to tell them you wont be back for the holidays. We broke the news to my MIL on that and she flipped. But with all the moving expenses and my hubby starting his new job, he cant take time off and we are just now getting back on our feet. No extra money for a trip. I miss my friends and family but to be honest, not having to see my in laws on a constant basis has been wonderful!!!! Take the job if its going to boost your quality of life.
