There are always two sides to a coin. MIL that simply listens to your rants might simply be confirming her thoughts of you. Not to spoil your 5 minutes of fame IFE but hope you go it off your chest. Finally, let it end there.

Ha! You may have invented a new MIL service! DIL’s can send you their numbers, and for a small fee, you can call them up and scream at them for awhile.

Good for you for finally standing up for yourself! I would have instantly corrected MIL if she had called my kids hers. My MIL used to to say things like “our baby” and I told my DH to tell her to stop saying that because it was MY baby that I carried, gave birth to and cared for.

When your MIL comes back to the US, make sure that you stick by what you said. If she comes a-knocking on your door, leave her out there until she gets tired of waiting. If she wants to create a scene, have the police escort her old a*** off your property.
